In November of 2018, Pauline Gladstone established herself as a professional artist and began creating her body of work. Her studio is located within the walls of the Stone Building, dating back to 1839, located on the site of Williams Mill Creative Arts Studios in Glen Williams, Ontario.

There is something to be said for surrounding yourself with eight-foot-high windows, river stone walls, and wide planked wooden floors. The light is inspirational, and the size of a canvas is limited to the fourteen-foot height of the ceiling. Nicknamed The Spark Studio, this light infused space provides a reprieve from the world and
a safe place for Pauline to explore her creativity.

A short period of time has passed since taking her first oil painting class in 2017. Since then, Pauline continues to work toward mastering the ability to translate her emotions onto the canvas thru painting. Every painting tells a story. She began creating realistic, comfortable images that cause the viewer to move themselves into the scene, to create their own story, to stir up memories and emotions. Her current work is a departure from the easy viewing, realistic pieces of the past 3 years. Growing as an artist, Pauline has begun to explore how she can speak to the emotional, physical, and psychological silencing of women. A major creative work is underway.

In November of 2017, Pauline enrolled in painting classes under the instruction of Artist, Lorne Winters of Glen Williams, Ontario. She quickly realized that she had both a passion and talent for oil painting. Since that time, the subject matter of her paintings varies. Pauline has explored still life, nature, landscapes, abstract, and portraiture. She continues to use realism as the foundation for all her painted stories.
